What is First Baptist's Mission Statement?

We want to Share Christ's Love with our Community and Beyond.

When was FBC founded?

First Baptist Church of Palmetto was founded in January of 1892. For over 100 years the church has served the community as a source of salt and light. We have begun many local mission churches, contributed to the Southern Baptist Convention Cooperative Program, with other love gifts to global missions. The church annually sends members into the mission field to work with Christian missionaries throughout the world.

What role does Music play in your ministries?

Our church is very music and drama oriented. Each year we produce musical dramas with extensive sets, costuming and orchestration that is designed to appeal to the saved and unsaved ~ giving them a clear vision of who Jesus is.

What programs do you have for Children?

Wednesday evening activities include AWANA Clubs for children ages three through sixth grades during the public school year.  UPWARD sports include Basketball and Cheerleading during the winter and Soccer Camp in the summer.

Children and Preschool Worship takes place each Sunday at the same time Adult Worship takes place in the Sanctuary.  Programs are geared for age-graded children's groups.

VBS (Vacation Bible School) takes place for one week each June and is open for ages Pre-K through Sixth Graders.

Each Summer, Centri Kid Camp takes place for one week each July in Norman Park, Georgia for ages third - sixth graders.

We offer WEE World Child Development Center, for ages two through Pre-K and Voluntary Pre-Kindgerdarten, Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

We also offer King’s Kids, an after-school care program for children K-5th grade.   King's Kids also offers a Summer Camp when public school is closed.

What programs do you have for Youth?

Our youth have traveled to Venezuela, South Carolina and West Palm Beach as part of M-Fuge, Atlanta to present Judgement House and have traveled to Italy for street evangelism.
On Wednesdays we offer a Youth Catalyst program beginning at 6:15 pm.
On Sundays there is Youth Bible Study at 9:15 am and frequent fellowships.

Do you provide counseling services?

The North River Counseling Center offers Christian psychological counseling for families, couples, children, support groups and corporate training seminars.

What activites and programs do you provide for Adults?

The Joyful Hearts Ministry is an ever growing ministry of FBC. The Ministry meets at least once per month for luncheons and other scheduled activities.  Our ministry utilizes a puppet team made up entirely of fun loving, Jesus preaching adults with their favorite puppets.   The Puppet Team can be seen bringing joy to Nursing Homes, Schools, Churches and other community events and locations.

How many members do you have?

We have approximately 2,100 members with 1,700 resident members.
