WELCOME! We’re so excited you want to know more about Palmetto Kids!
Palmetto Kids provides age appropriate programs for birth through fifth grades. We offer AWANA Clubs (during the school year) on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm; fun-filled Kids Worship on Sundays at 9:15 and 10:45 am; Vacation Bible School in June and Centri-Kid Camp in the Summer.
It’s a place where the worship music is so fun and engaging that the children leave the building humming the tunes and singing the words that help them remember biblical truths every day of the week! It’s a place where volunteers are serving with joy and where children learn to connect Jesus with their community and beyond.

What is Palmetto Kids All About?
Jesus! Palmetto Kids is a Christ-centered ministry encompassing all the children’s ministry functions of First Baptist Church of Palmetto. We serve children from bed babies through 5th Grade through a number of programs and events. Our goal is to come alongside parents to share the love of Christ with their children so they can grow to share the love of Christ with their community and beyond.
What programs and events does Palmetto Kids offer?
Sundays:
- Kids Worship: This full hour program features games, worship, drama, scripture memorization and Bible lessons for our K-5th Grade kids! Kid’s Worship generally follows a four-week theme, so there is something new every month! Lessons will usually include content discussed in the adult message so parents and kids can talk about it together at home! To see what’s going on check out the “Parent Resources” sign in the Loft! Kid’s Worship is offered both at 9:15 and 10:45 am.
- 2HK: Second Hour Kids is a follow-on activity for those kids who have attended the 9:15 Kids Worship Service, but aren’t leaving until after the 10:45 service concludes. 2HK includes game time, playground, crafts and more! 2HK is only offered during the 10:45 service.
- Childcare: Palmetto Kids is pleased to offer childcare for bed babies through Pre-Kindergarten during both the 9:15 and 10:45 am services!
Wednesdays:
- AWANA: Awana is a weekly club activity that is offered during the school year on Wednesday nights from 6-7:30PM for ages Three through 5th Grade. Awana focuses on learning scripture while providing kids with games, story time and fun activities and events. As kids complete their workbooks they’ll receive prizes and awards!
Special Events:
- Parent’s Night Out: PNO is an opportunity for parents to drop their kids off at the church for a few hours of fun… not just for the kids, but for the parents too! We’ll host your K-5th Grade child at church providing games, snacks and guided activities while you and your spouse relax, have fun or just enjoy an evening reconnecting.
- Family Connection Events: These are events where we try to create a unique and special environment for kids and parents to connect with each other. Keep an eye out for these fun and unique events!
- Holidays: Whether its hosting front yard get togethers to connect with neighbors and trick-or-treaters or singing Christmas songs in the main service, we’re always looking for opportunities to share Christ’s love!

How does Palmetto Kids keep my children safe?
We want to provide a safe and fun environment for all kids:
- All volunteers are background checked and trained in safety procedures.
- Our check in/out system ensures that only you can pick up your child.
- Allergies are noted and listed on the child’s nametag.
