“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
- Have you ever been in a situation that you thought was hopeless, that God used for good?
- How did it feel when you finally realized what God was doing?
- Why do you think it is so difficult to remember the principle set in verses 8-9 when we encounter difficulty and uncertainty in our lives?
Take a few minutes to memorize Isaiah 55:8: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”
Ask God to remind you even daily that His ways are higher than yours and that His understanding is greater than yours. Ask the Lord to allow you to rest in that fact and to share it with a world desperate for peace.
