Palmetto Kids Volunteer Opportunities

Pre-K and Below Sunday School:

2 Consecutive Sundays Per Month, 9:30 or 11 hour.

This is a great opportunity to sign up with your bestie! You will be assigned to the same room/age group each week, usually with the same partner (or your bestie if you sign up together!). You’ll provide childcare for around 1.5 hours on your scheduled Sunday. Older groups (3- & 4-year-olds) will present the provided curriculum dependent upon age. This could be anything from a short lesson to a coloring sheet.

2nd Hour Kids Sunday School:

2 Consecutive Sundays Per Month, 11 hour.

This is a super opportunity for husband/wife teams! This is more of a traditional Sunday School program for kids K-5th Grade that attend church for both hours. You’ll provide a fun review of the content provided in Kid’s Worship with the provided curriculum. There are games, playground time and best of all … SNACKS.

Kid’s Worship Team:

1-2 Sundays Per Month, 9:30 or 11 hour.

There are lots of different ways to get involved with Kid’s Worship! Below you’ll see a brief description of all the different roles we have available for volunteers. Pick one or more! We’ll mentor you and make sure you’re prepared to serve wherever God leads you!

AVL Team:

You’ll sit in the sound booth running sound, ProPresenter and lighting! This is not as intense as the AVL systems in Encounter or Celebration but is a great place to start if you’re interested in learning more!

Game Leader:

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career in youth ministry or anyone who just likes to have FUN! This is an up-front role in which you’ll lead a large group of kids in a fun activity. Use your creativity to come up with new games and ideas or use the provided curriculum. These games can include all kids, teams or some up-front games for a smaller number of kids.

Heart Hider:

Weird name, but important job! This is an upfront role in which you’ll help kids memorize the Word of God and hide it in their hearts! We have a new memory verse each month. You can use the curriculum provided memorization activity or come up with your own!

Bible Teacher:

Are you interested in becoming a Bible Teacher? Teaching kids is a great way to start! On your assigned Sundays you’ll lead the kids in a lesson on that week’s “big idea” and the scripture behind it. You’ll be challenged to make the lesson fun… through object lessons, activities and skits. If you can teach Bible to kids, you can teach it to anyone! Come try it out!

Every Wednesday evening during the school year from 6:00-7:30PM.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help children hide God’s word in their heart! AWANA volunteers help kids learn memory verses from provided curriculum. You’ll work with kids during “handbook” time, guide them to games and to large group time.

Palmetto Pals:

Varies, 9:30 or 11 hour.

We believe all kids should be able to attend church with their family. This is an opportunity for someone who has a heart for special needs kids and is willing to assist them one-on-one in a group environment. You’ll be connected with a child and be their Pal during Kid’s Worship. You’ll meet with the parents, discuss the child’s needs, and have a good understanding of what’s necessary to help that child enjoy church. Currently, there are only a small number of kids, but we always want to be prepared to receive any special needs child. If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll go from there!
